85Ah Lucas AGM Mobility batteries
Hello there, explorers! Just another story about a recent 85Ah Lucas AGM Mobility batteries, delivery to help a stranded customer out. The lady was on holiday with her husband and also her carer. The lady had a recently refurbished electric wheelchair.
However, it appeared that the batteries had been overlooked and had consequently, started to fail her. In her first week on holiday she recognised that her wheelchair needed more charging from day to day. This terminated by the lady getting stranded in her wheelchair in a heavy shower of rain.
Luckily, she was invited into one of the brightly painted beach huts that adorn the promenade facing the sea and the excellent sandy beach. Fortunately her husband was able bodied, and with help from friends were able to push the stranded wheelchair back the hotel where they were staying.
A local mobility company was called,
but they did not have the two 85Ah Lucas AGM Mobility batteries, that were required. Fortunately the hotel where they were staying, the “Bacchus Hotel” provided a room with internet access.
This is where I came in to the rescue. My contact phone number was found online, by the lady’s husband and I was asked to help them out of an awkward situation. He purchased 2 x 85Ah Lucas AGM batteries online and I promised to deliver them the following day, so they could continue on their holiday.
My destination was to Sutton on Sea on the beautiful Lincolnshire coast. This was part of the UK that I was very familiar with. Sutton is part of the coastal road between Skegness and Cleethorpes. Because of the many caravan and motorhome sites then it’s an area that I have visited many times and am very fond of. Supplying many leisure batteries to this area in the past.
So, I collected the 85Ah Lucas AGM Mobility batteries,
from our base in Halifax for a next day delivery in my Ford Transit Connect van.
On a bright morning, I began my 2 hour journey to Sutton on Sea, a hidden gem along Lincolnshire’s beautiful coastline, and I was doubly happy because it would be an opportunity to assist someone in need.
Approaching, the coast the clouds began to burn off and a sunny day was to emerge from the early gloom. I entered Sutton on Sea from the south and quickly approached the Bacchus Hotel, a charming retreat for old and new holiday makers to this most peaceful resort town.
The Bacchus Hotel, nestled among the picturesque landscapes of Sutton on Sea, exudes old-world charm. It’s the ideal haven for a memorable holiday experience, with its Victorian-inspired architecture and warm hospitality.
As I approached the hotel,
I asked the receptionist if she knew the whereabouts of the lady whose electric wheelchair batteries had failed. I set out to help her, determined to be her knight in shining armour, and armed with two new 85Ah Lucas AGM Mobility batteries.
With the help of a young hotel porter, we managed to change the batteries and left the disabled lady and her husband to enjoy the rest of their holiday. All went well the lady thanked me with a couple of French style cheek kisses.
I decide to park my van up and have a walk around Sutton on Sea, before setting off back to Yorkshire. My first stop was to an excellent fish and chip shop for lunch. I have stopped here before and the lunch was delicious. I sat on a pub wall and took my time to eat this delicious meal.
The coastline of Sutton on Sea is breathtaking, with golden sandy beaches stretching as far as the eye can see. The soothing melody created by the rhythmic waves crashing against the shore instantly relaxes visitors.
Tranquillity by the Sea:
Unlike bustling tourist hotspots, Sutton on Sea provides a tranquil retreat where one can relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. So I decided to take a walk on the sea front promenade. The sunny day had encourage people out to have a walk and sit on the quality golden sands.
Finding Hidden Treasures:
I discovered delightful treasures while exploring the town, such as charming cafes serving delectable treats and quirky shops filled with local crafts. Each discovery added a magical element to my journey.
Discovered Fun Fact:
Did you know that the beach at Sutton on Sea is backed by a promenade lined with colourful beach huts? These vibrant individual coloured huts are not only a visual treat, but also the ideal spot for their owners to relax and take in the scenery.
I checked to see how much these beach huts cost and was staggered to see a couple priced at £28,000.00 each! WOW
As the sun set, I left Sutton on Sea
with a grateful heart and a renewed appreciation for the beauty of chance encounters. My visit to deliver the new batteries turned into a journey of discovery—an opportunity to immerse myself in the coastal charm of Sutton on Sea while also assisting a wonderful lady. Consider this quaint town with its serene beaches and hidden gems the next time you’re looking for an off-the-beaten-path vacation destination. Happy travels, my fellow travellers, until we meet again!
