Bosch Start-Stop battery

This is another Johnson Controls video. Johnson Controls is probably one of the largest battery manufacturers in the world. Of course, manufacturing Bosch batteries So, over the years, they have helped to produce many different battery technologies. Including the stop-start batteries. As expected, these Bosch batteries are now fitted to about two-thirds of all vehicles produced in Europe.

Without a doubt, mate! Car batteries are a topic that may sound uninteresting at first, but they become absolutely essential when you find yourself in a sticky situation, so let’s talk about them today. However, I’m not talking about any old battery for your vehicle;

I’m talking about Bosch Start-Stop battery. These batteries, on the other hand, are not your typical “throw it in and hope for the best” type of batteries. Nope, these are the real deal, particularly for those contemporary automobiles that have start-stop functionality.

A Brief History of the Situation

You could be asking yourself why Bosch at this point. To begin, this business has been in operation since the year 1886, if you can believe it! You did hear me correctly, I assure you. While we are discussing the past, let us not overlook the fact that the Bosch company has some history in Germany.

And if there’s one thing the Germans are experts in, it has to be engineering, right? They have established a name for themselves over the years in a number of different fields, one of which is automotive technology.

Therefore, their standing in the community is unshakeable, much like the Yorkshire pudding recipe your grandmother is unwilling to divulge to anyone else.

Why Start-Stop Systems Should Use Them Instead of Anything Else

Listen up if you drive a contemporary vehicle equipped with a start-stop system! This technology is great for reducing fuel consumption, but it can be extremely taxing on the battery.

It’s almost as if your car’s battery is competing in a series of sprint triathlons every time you start and stop the engine. But Bosch Start-Stop battery are ready for whatever comes their way.

Why, if I may ask? Because they are constructed using the technology known as AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat). It’s quite elegant, don’t you think?

However, there is no need to worry; you do not need to put on your scientist hat. Simply put, it indicates that these Bosch Start-Stop battery are more long-lasting and reliable, particularly for the repeated stopping and starting of the vehicle. You don’t want a battery that gives up on you just as you’re getting caught in that horrible M25 traffic, do you?

The Ties That Bind to the UK-Bosch Start-Stop battery

Even though Bosch is headquartered in Germany, the company has a significant presence right here in the United Kingdom. You can find Bosch products stocked in plenty of garages all over the country.

including our lovely Halifax, and many of the automobile manufacturers that do business in the country recommend the brand. If you have even a passing interest in history, you might find it interesting to learn that Bosch has been supplying parts for British automobiles ever since the early 1900s. What do you mean, “talk about a long-term relationship”?

So, Do You Think It’s Money Well Spent?-Bosch Start-Stop battery

In a word, absolutely! Purchasing a Bosch Start-Stop battery is like putting money in the bank, and this is true regardless of whether or not your vehicle is equipped with a start-stop mechanism. They are a little bit more expensive, to be sure, but you get what you pay for:

longevity, dependability, and fewer problems further down the road. In addition to this, who wouldn’t want a little bit of peace of mind while driving through the stunning landscapes of the United Kingdom?

To summarise everything for you, folks, Bosch batteries are the real deal, and this is especially true if you operate a start-stop vehicle.

They have a rich history, cutting-edge technology, and world-renowned German engineering, making it difficult to compete with them. So the next time you need a battery, give a Bosch Start-Stop battery a try instead of going with another brand. I can guarantee that you won’t be sorry you did it!

Thank you very much for listening, and we’ll see you in the next one!

Therefore, these Bosch batteries are fitted to normal petrol and diesel engines. AGM batteries were developed for the stop-start system. A stronger, more powerful battery with deep cycles was needed. The explanation below is from Johnson Controls, in line with this video.

Start-stop vehicles use internal combustion engines with advanced functionality. The Bosch battery start-stop system automatically shuts off the engine when the car is idle and restarts. Hence, when the driver’s foot leaves the brake pedal, When the engine is off, the vehicle’s electrical systems (from entertainment to lights) use energy from an advanced lead-acid battery rather than the engine.

The battery also supports the restart of the engine in a fraction of a second.

Start-stop vehicles are up to 5% more fuel efficient than conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.

As a footnote, some people do not like the stop-start systems in cars. This includes me. We have owned two cars equipped with this system. The Mitsubishi Outlander and now a Jaguar F-Pace The first thing I do when I enter the car is to switch the start-stop system off. I hate the things. For some reason, I panic and do not seem to be able to restart the car quick enough. Probably all in my mind?

I must admit, though, that now in 2018, we are selling hundreds of replacement AGM batteries for these cars. As Bosch Start-Stop battery agents in the Halifax area of the UK, we find that this is the most popular brand of battery.
