So this was to be yet another great delivery day in Scotland. Of course, Scotland is now an important sales area for our online battery business.

Most of our standard battery types for cars and mobility products do go by courier. However, our own vans deliver the bigger and more expensive batteries! Mostly because we know they will arrive on time and in one piece!

So, in the past, we have tried many methods, including pallets.

However, they all seemed to arrive broken or missing altogether. Importantly, we now deliver in our own vans! ensuring a safe and speedy delivery to our customers all over the UK? These two K7 Varta truck batteries were delivered to a famous old Scottish whisky distillery.

Douglas Laing Distillery is my next destination.

So, on Saturday, I headed north with a 3.30 a.m. start to my day. Importantly, I went to bed at 7.30 p.m. the night before! ensuring a good night’s sleep before my long journey.

So, my final delivery was to a “BlueSky Experience” near the lovely city of Perth. Perth is situated on the River Tay and is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

However, my delivery address was just off the A9 trunk road, and I arrived on time. When I got there, I could not believe my eyes.

The K7 Varta Promotive Truck batteries

were indeed for a large horse box at the rear of the “Strathearn Distillery.” With it being early Saturday morning, there was not a soul about. Tactfully, I wondered about trying to find anyone who would accept my delivery.

The place was deserted! I wandered steadily around the back of the distillery to the large stable block!

The Strathearn Distillery is a small, family-owned distillery located in the village of Methven, Perthshire, Scotland.

Simon Fairlie and Matthew Strachan, two friends, founded the distillery in 2013 after becoming interested in the region’s long history of whisky production. They began distilling gin and later transitioned to whisky production.

The first Strathearn single malt whisky was released in 2018 and gained a reputation for its high quality. The distillery uses traditional methods to produce its whisky and is one of the smallest in Scotland, with a production capacity of just a few hundred litres per week.

The distillery is open for tours and tastings, and its products can be found in select stores and online retailers.

Eureka! There in front of me was a very large horsebox with two old L5075 Bosch truck batteries that had been removed and placed on the floor.

Happily, I knew that I was in the right place. So, I placed the new truck batteries next to the old ones and stroked one of the many horses in the stables before heading back to Yorkshire.

Another great day in Scotland, and I had a new blog in my head for when I got home.
