Lucas Batteries were a British Brand
So, this takes me back to the days when there was very little in the way of copying or fake parts for the cars of the day. I worked at a British Leyland dealership in the late 1960s. Most of the cars were new styles of front-wheel drives. Of course, such as the first Minis, the 1100s, and the giant 1800 models.
British Leyland was a British automotive company formed in 1968 as a result of the merger of British Motor Holdings and Leyland Motor Corporation. The company produced a variety of cars under different brands, including Austin, Morris, Jaguar, MG, Triumph, and Rover.
However, the company struggled financially throughout the 1970s and 1980s
Thus, it was eventually nationalised by the British government in 1975. Despite efforts to turn the company around, it was eventually broken up and sold off in the 1980s and 1990s. The Mini brand, which BMW owns, is the only thing that remains of British Leyland today.
It wasn’t long before I passed my driving test and was able to drive to the larger dealerships to pick up parts for servicing and repairs. Lucas Batteries was a British brand. I will always cherish those days. The vehicle that I used for driving was an old Ford Consul pickup truck. The vehicle was old and battered, but it was a real thrill to drive. It was a column gear change, and because of this, there was a large bench seat in the cab.
So, whatever brand of car we serviced, we would go to the appropriate dealership for the Lucas Batteries, which are a British brand. If the car was a Ford, I would go to Grahams of Dewsbury, or if it was an Austin or MG, then it would be Boxes Leyland in Dewsbury. Both closed down years ago due to copying imported car parts and cutting their prices. Lucas batteries were a British brand, according to Wikipedia.
All the electrical parts for British Leyland models were made by Lucas industries in Birmingham.
This, of course, included Lucas Batteries were a British brand. Therefore, any replacement electrical parts would have the Lucas brand name. Including car batteries, of course. Who makes Lucas batteries?

Lucas Batteries was a British brand review.
This period is also when I became interested in batteries.
However, I became the victim of a staff dispute and was handed my cards. Looking for another job, I went to work for a tyre company and once again took up my interest in car batteries.
In the 1960s, Lucas Industries acquired Tungstone Battery Company, a well-known battery manufacturer in the UK and phased out the Tungstone brand in favour of its own Lucas-branded batteries( Lucas Batteries were a British Brand) Are Lucas batteries any good?
In the 1970s, Lucas Industries faced financial difficulties and was forced to sell off or close many of its divisions, including Lucas Batteries. Lucas Batteries is no longer manufactured, but the company is remembered as a respected and dependable British-made product.
A national battery company purchased the Lucas brand name, and it is still in use today. Lucas batteries still carry the famous green and white labels that we associate with the old Lucas battery regime.
